Sustainable water solution for rural Nepal
Developed innovative fog harvesting technologies to provide sustainable water sources for rural communities in Nepal. This project involved researching atmospheric water generation techniques suitable for Nepal's climate and topography.
We conducted field studies across multiple regions, collecting data on fog patterns, humidity levels, and water collection efficiency. The system we developed increased water collection by 40% compared to traditional methods, providing a viable solution for communities with limited access to clean water.
The project included designing and testing various mesh materials, frame structures, and collection systems. We developed data collection protocols and created comprehensive reports with actionable insights for local governments and communities.
Custom solution for local vendors
Developed a comprehensive Point of Sale system with integrated inventory management for local vendors in Nepal. The system simplifies sales transactions while automatically updating inventory levels, generating sales reports, and tracking customer purchases.
The solution was designed with a user-friendly interface suitable for small business owners with limited technical experience. It includes features for barcode scanning, receipt printing, sales analytics, and low-stock alerts.
Built with Python for backend processing and SQLite for database management. The frontend was developed using PyQt for desktop compatibility. The system operates offline with local data storage, making it ideal for areas with limited internet connectivity.
Infrastructure development across rural Nepal
Managed over 200 trail, suspended and suspension bridge projects across rural Nepal, improving transportation and accessibility for remote communities. These projects connected isolated villages to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets.
My role included coordinating with engineering teams, local communities, and government officials; managing project timelines and resources; and ensuring compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
The bridges have significantly reduced travel time for thousands of villagers, improved access to emergency services, and boosted local economies by facilitating trade and commerce. Some bridges reduced travel time from several hours to just minutes.
